17 More Arrests

November 9, 2013;

Seventeen Tibetans, including three women, have reportedly been arrested in Tenkhar village, Shamchu town in Driru County, Kham. According to reports received, Chinese officials arrived in Tengkhar to conduct thought re-education on the Tibetans but local Tibetans questioned them about the arrests of two Tibetans last month, leading to a heated argument. The situation in Driru has been tense since the Tibetans refused to fly the Chinese flag from their rooftops last month.
