We are celebrating our 25 years by bringing you the story of Contact and the people who have made it happen, and our archive is still there for you to access at any time, and below you can read the story of Contact, how it came into being and the wonderful reflections of the people who have made it happen over the years.

When and how Contact will re-emerge and evolve will be determined by those who become involved.

Backpay after 63 years

April 13, 2013;

Robert Ford, 90, the man who set up Tibet radio and was in Tibet at the time of Chinese invasion in 1949, was presented with the International Campaign for Tibet’s Light of Truth Award by His Holiness the Dalai Lama.  On his 90th birthday on April 3 he received £65 in backpay, 63 years after being imprisoned by the Chinese in Tibet.
