We are celebrating our 25 years by bringing you the story of Contact and the people who have made it happen, and our archive is still there for you to access at any time, and below you can read the story of Contact, how it came into being and the wonderful reflections of the people who have made it happen over the years.

When and how Contact will re-emerge and evolve will be determined by those who become involved.

Kunchok Kyab

By Jenny James /  January 22, 2013;

Kunchok Kyab, 23, set himself on fire in the Bora region of Labrang, eastern Tibet in an apparent protest against China’s continued occupation of Tibet.  He self-immolated near the Bora Monastery at around 12 pm.  He passed away in his fiery protest and the Chinese authorities whisked away his body to an undisclosed location. He is survived by his wife and an infant son.
