Improving Education

By Sonam Tenzin  /  November 11, 2014;

Sonam TenzinHi, I am Sonam Tenzin from Jammu and Kashmir. I was born in a small village at the northern part of India. That village is very poor in education because we don’t have a good facility in any field from the Government. Even, we don’t have a road to my village yet. We have only a primary school in our village, so therefore my parents sent me to a town, so I did study in that town til I passed my 9th class, after that I decided to be a monk so I want to Bodhgaya to become a monk. I studied the Dharma for seven years.

Now I have a goal that I really want to achieve in my life, I want to improve education in my village. There are many poor families whose children don’t get a chance to get education in their life. This kind of condition is not only in my village, there are many villages around my village that are suffering in this kind of situation. I want to help all the village children to improve their education and have the facility to do education, so I want to be able to do something for them,that’s why I came here to Dharamshala to improve my English and other knowledge like computers and in Dharma as well. Here I get classes at Lha Institute, so I am very thankful to Lha for giving me such a good opportunity to improve myself. I am really improving here, so am feeling very happy.
