Contact is taking a holiday!

Contact is taking a break after 25 years of bringing you news of Tibet and Tibetan issues. We are celebrating our 25 years by bringing you the story of Contact and the people who have made it happen, and our archive is still there for you to access at any time, and below you can read the story of Contact, how it came into being and the wonderful reflections of the people who have made it happen over the years.

When and how Contact will re-emerge and evolve will be determined by those who become involved.

Contact Celebrates!

November 10, 2022;

Contact is 25 years old! We at Contact are immensely proud of what we have achieved in bringing you news and information for 25 years. And now, dear reader, we are saying goodbye in our present format. The news is all there for you online, the need for us to bring it all together in one place is no longer; for the next two months we will still post daily news online, in the form of our Tibetan Headlines page only, and on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter as usual.

In our 25 years we have embraced the change to bringing you news online, as it happens, alongside our printed monthly issues of Contact. We have enjoyed sharing the stories of the people who make up the exile Tibetan community through our People stories and have loved the connections around the globe with our team of volunteer writers and all the people who contribute in so many ways.

Look out for our posts in December: as well as news of what we are planning for next year, we will be celebrating the story of Contact and the people who have made it happen – and that includes you, dear reader! Have you got a story to tell? Do you remember Contact in its early days? What have you liked best about Contact? Please email us at editor@contactmagazine.net, before November 25th, we will include as many as we can in the final printed issue and online. We can’t promise to include them all and, as always, we reserve the right to edit, but we hope to make this a space for you – so get writing! And do send a photo of yourself, and if you have any photos from the early days of Contact please do send them in, we would love to hear from you.
