Tibetans Beaten

July 12, 2018;

Chinese police attacked over 100 Tibetan villagers in the Yushu prefecture in Qinghai province with tear gas for protesting against a mining operation in the region carried out by private firms in collaboration with local Chinese officials. The villagers gathered at Upper Dechung on July 7, the area where the mining operations were underway. Many protesters were left unconscious by the tear gas attack while others were severely beaten by the police.
