Central Tibetan Administrations ‘Thank You India’ Event from October 9

NAGPUR: The Central Tibetan Administration will be organizing a “Thank You India” programme to show their gratitude towards the people of India from October 9 at Dragon Palace temple, Kamptee.

The two-day event, scheduled around the occasion of Dhamma Chakra Pravartan Divas, will feature talks, photo exhibitions, screening of a documentary, and performances by artistes from Tibetan Institute of Performing Arts (TIPA), Dharamsala, Himachal Pradesh.

Addressing a conference at Patrakar Bhavan on Friday, RK Khrimey, convener of core group of Tibetan cause, said, “The programme aims at appealing Indians to pressurize the government of India to help initiate a dialogue between representatives of People’s Republic of China and Dalai Lama,” Talks between the two countries on the issue have stalled since January 2010.

Similar event was organized in Sonipat, Haryana and Malabar Palace in Calicut, Kerala in the past few months.

The event will be jointly organized by Tibet Support Groups in Maharashtra, India Tibet Coordination Office, Tibet Museum, Tibet Policy Institute and TIPA.
