We are celebrating our 25 years by bringing you the story of Contact and the people who have made it happen, and our archive is still there for you to access at any time, and below you can read the story of Contact, how it came into being and the wonderful reflections of the people who have made it happen over the years.

When and how Contact will re-emerge and evolve will be determined by those who become involved.

Self-Immolator Released

March 30, 2016;

Samdup, a Tibetan monk who survived a self-immolation attempt in November 2012, was released from prison on March 7 after serving a three year and three month prison sentence. Samdup, who comes from Ngoshul Monastery in Gomang in Ngaba, was 16 when he self-immolated with two other teenagers Dorjee and Dorjee Kyab. Dorjee died during his protest; Samdup and Dorjee Kyab have remained in detention since, their whereabouts unknown.
