We are celebrating our 25 years by bringing you the story of Contact and the people who have made it happen, and our archive is still there for you to access at any time, and below you can read the story of Contact, how it came into being and the wonderful reflections of the people who have made it happen over the years.

Family Pressured

March 4, 2016;

The family of Kalsang Wangdu, the monk who self-immolated on February 29, is being pressured by the authorities to say that Wangdu died in a house fire. Radio Free Asia reports that police are blocking the family from visitors, including relatives and “Making every effort to prevent news of the incident from reaching outside contacts”.
