Daily Excelsior, 6 February 2016

JAMMU, Feb 6: Fully agreeing with the general public opinion in the country as well as among the people of Tibet that Tibet is not the part of China but has been forcibly annexed by it, Senior RSS leader and Member of its National Executive, Indresh Kumar today said that the Government should also concede this view in the larger interests of the people of the country as well as Tibetans.

Indresh Kumar who is on the three days tour of Jammu region was speaking at a seminar at Press Club here, today organized by Ladakh Phanday Chhokarpa did not agree with those leaders of the country who earlier considered that Tibet was part of China and said that this view was totally wrong.

The theme of the Seminar was “Himalaya Ki Surksha Main Rashtriya –Anatar Rashtriya Bhoomika’’ (The role at national & International level in safeguarding Himaliyas). He said India and people of country should work in favour and support of oppressed and suppressed people of Tibet and feel their pain and agony. Indresh Kumar said that under the garb of development in border belt of India, China, the neighboring country which has constructed a 450 km long Highway was trying to hoodwink the world opinion while the intentions of China are some thing else. The development is only for show, he added.

He said had it not been so China would have not deployed about two lakh army men in the border belt which has only a population of 16000. This is not an indication that China wants to make friendship with India, he added.

Indresh Kumar said every time when Chinese troops intrude in Indian side the neighboring country said that they were doing routine exercise but India should not trust it and instead  see through its game plan.
Speaking at the seminar Dolma Gyari, Home Minster of Tibetan Government in Exile highlighted the plight of the oppressed and suppressed people of Tibet facing atrocities from Chinese authorities. She said GoI should admit the fact that Tibet is under forced occupation of China. She termed the condition of people is very bad in Tibet and there is no development in the country.

She strongly advocated for strengthening the ITBP and increasing of force towards the border of China. She also stressed on construction of smart villages near China border for the development of border belt and providing better facilities to the people there besides the border posts along China be also increased and the policy towards China be framed as per the existing scenario.

Former Deputy Chief Minister and BJP Legislative Party leader Dr Nirmal Singh also spoke on the occasion. He dwelt at length on some vital issues faced by the people living along the border from Arunachal Pradesh to Ladakh.

Dr Singh is one of the members of Committee constituted by Government of India for border survey. He visited the entire border belt from China to Ladakh to ascertain the situation and also gave a detailed report of the same in the seminar.
