The Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile has called on the Chinese Government to look into the grievances of all the Tibetan people who have set themselves on fire, and to resolve the issue through dialogue with the Tibetan leadership based on the Middle-Way Approach as envisioned by His Holiness the Dalai Lama.
At the start of the new Parliamentary session, three resolutions were passed to express solidarity with the Tibetans who have set themselves on fire for the cause of Tibet. There was praise for the “indomitable courage and determination” of all those Tibetans who are suffering under the repressive rule of the Chinese government. The resolution said that the new Chinese leadership must take a realistic approach on the issue of Tibet.
Parliament expressed deep gratitude to the UN, governments, parliaments and organisations for their resolutions and statements showing concern over the grim situation in Tibet, and has called on the international community to press the Chinese government to end its failed policies in Tibet. The resolution appealed to the UN Human Rights Council to convene an urgent session over the critical situation and for them to send a fact-finding delegation to Tibet.
There were prayers for those who have died for the cause of Tibet to be reborn in Tibet, for the immediate release of those suffering imprisonment, and for fulfillment of Tibetans’ aspirations for the return of His Holiness the Dalai Lama to Tibet.
